وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَآ ۛ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ ﴿172﴾

And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."

And made themوَأَشْهَدَهُمْCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTوَand+أَشْهَدَMade+هُمْthem / their
OverعَلَىH
ThemselvesأَنْفُسِهِمْCBIN+PRONATTأَنْفُسِthemselves+هِمْthem / their
Am i notأَلَسْتُCBFINTG+Vأَis it? / did?+لَسْتُAm i not
Your LordبِرَبِّكُمْCBIP+N+PRONATTبِwith / in+رَبِّYour Lord+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
They saidقَالُواF
YesبَلَىH
We have testifiedشَهِدْنَاF
LestأَنْH
You sayتَقُولُواF
On the dayيَوْمَI
Of the resurrectionالْقِيَامَةِIالthe+قِيَامَةِOf the resurrection
IndeedإِنَّاCBHACC+PRONATTإِIndeed+ناus / our
We wereكُنَّاF
AboutعَنْH
ThisهَذَاI
UnawareغَافِلِينَI

أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ ﴿173﴾

Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"

And we areوَكُنَّاCBFCONJ+Vوَand+كُنَّاWe are
DescendantsذُرِّيَّةًI
After themمِنْH
After themبَعْدِهِمْCBIN+PRONATTبَعْدِAfter+هِمْthem / their
So will you destroy usأَفَتُهْلِكُنَاCBFINTG+CONJ+V+PRONATTأَis it? / did?+فَso / then+تُهْلِكُWill you destroy+نَاus / our
For whatبِمَاCBIP+RELبِwith / in+مَاFor what
DidفَعَلَF
The falsifiersالْمُبْطِلُونَIالthe+مُبْطِلُونَFalsifiers

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿174﴾

And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return.

And thusوَكَذَلِكَCBICONJ+P+DEMوَand+كَذَلِكَThus
We explainنُفَصِّلُF
The versesالْآيَاتِIالthe+آيَاتِVerses
So that they mayوَلَعَلَّهُمْCBHCONJ+ACC+PRONATTوَand+لَعَلَّSo that they may+هُمْthem / their
ReturnيَرْجِعُونَF

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ ﴿175﴾

And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators.

And reciteوَاتْلُCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اتْلُRecite
To themعَلَيْهِمْCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىTo+هِمْthem / their
The storyنَبَأَI
Of the one whomالَّذِيI
We gave [him]آتَيْنَاهُCBFV+PRONATTآتَيْنَاWe gave [him]+هُhim / his / it
Our versesآيَاتِنَاCBIN+PRONATTآيَاتِOur verses+نَاus / our
But he detachedفَانْسَلَخَCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+انْسَلَخَBut he detached
[from] themمِنْهَاCBHP+PRONATTمِنْ[from]+هَاher / it / its
So followed himفَأَتْبَعَهُCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTفَso / then+أَتْبَعَFollowed+هُhim / his / it
The devilالشَّيْطَانُIالthe+شَيْطَانُDevil
And he becameفَكَانَCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+كَانَAnd he became
OfمِنَH
Those gone astrayالْغَاوِينَIالthe+غَاوِينَThose gone astray

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ۚ ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ۚ فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿176﴾

And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.

And ifوَلَوْCBHCONJ+CONDوَand+لَوْIf
We willedشِئْنَاF
Surely we could have raised himلَرَفَعْنَاهُCBFLAM+V+PRONATTلَfor / to+رَفَعْنَاSurely we could have raised+هُhim / his / it
With theseبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
[and] but heوَلَكِنَّهُCBHCONJ+ACC+PRONATTوَand+لَكِنَّ[and] but he+هُhim / his / it
AdheredأَخْلَدَF
ToإِلَىH
The earthالْأَرْضِIالthe+أَرْضِEarth
And followedوَاتَّبَعَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اتَّبَعَFollowed
His vain desiresهَوَاهُCBIN+PRONATTهَوَاHis vain desires+هُhim / his / it
So his exampleفَمَثَلُهُCBICONJ+N+PRONATTفَso / then+مَثَلُHis example+هُhim / his / it
Is like the exampleكَمَثَلِCBIP+Nكَlike+مَثَلِIs like the example
Of the dogالْكَلْبِIالthe+كَلْبِOf the dog
IfإِنْH
You attackتَحْمِلْF
[on] himعَلَيْهِCBHP+PRONATTعَلَى[on]+هِhim / his / it
He lolls out his tongueيَلْهَثْF
OrأَوْH
If you leave himتَتْرُكْهُCBFV+PRONATTتَتْرُكْIf you leave+هُhim / his / it
He lolls out his tongueيَلْهَثْF
ThatذَلِكَI
Is the exampleمَثَلُI
Of the peopleالْقَوْمِIالthe+قَوْمِOf the people
WhoالَّذِينَI
DeniedكَذَّبُواF
[in] our signsبِآيَاتِنَاCBIP+N+PRONATTبِwith / in+آيَاتِ[in] our signs+نَاus / our
So relateفَاقْصُصِCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+اقْصُصِRelate
The storyالْقَصَصَIالthe+قَصَصَStory
So that they mayلَعَلَّهُمْCBHACC+PRONATTلَعَلَّSo that they may+هُمْthem / their
ReflectيَتَفَكَّرُونَF

سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿177﴾

How evil an example [is that of] the people who denied Our signs and used to wrong themselves.

As an exampleمَثَلًاI
Are the peopleالْقَوْمُIالthe+قَوْمُAre the people
Those whoالَّذِينَI
DeniedكَذَّبُواF
Our signsبِآيَاتِنَاCBIP+N+PRONATTبِwith / in+آيَاتِOur signs+نَاus / our
And themselvesوَأَنْفُسَهُمْCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+أَنْفُسَand themselves+هُمْthem / their
They used toكَانُواF
WrongيَظْلِمُونَF

مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿178﴾

Whoever Allah guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - it is those who are the losers.

WhoeverمَنْI
Allah guidesيَهْدِF
Allah guidesاللَّهُI
Then heفَهُوَCBICONJ+PRONSUBJفَso / then+هُوَHe
Is the guided oneالْمُهْتَدِيIالthe+مُهْتَدِيIs the guided one
While whoeverوَمَنْCBICONJ+CONDوَand+مَنْWhile whoever
He lets go astrayيُضْلِلْF
Then thoseفَأُولَئِكَCBICONJ+DEMفَso / then+أُولَئِكَThose
[they]هُمُI
Are the losersالْخَاسِرُونَIالthe+خَاسِرُونَAre the losers

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ ﴿179﴾

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.

We have createdذَرَأْنَاF
For HellلِجَهَنَّمَCBIP+PNلِfor / to+جَهَنَّمَHell
ManyكَثِيرًاI
OfمِنَH
The jinnالْجِنِّIالthe+جِنِّJinn
And menوَالْإِنْسِCBICONJ+Nوَand+الthe+إِنْسِMen
For themلَهُمْCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+هُمْthem / their
Are heartsقُلُوبٌI
But notلَاH
They understandيَفْقَهُونَF
With themبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
And for themوَلَهُمْCBHCONJ+P+PRONATTوَand+لَهُمْFor them
Are eyesأَعْيُنٌI
But notلَاH
They seeيُبْصِرُونَF
With themبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
And for themوَلَهُمْCBHCONJ+P+PRONATTوَand+لَهُمْFor them
Are earsآذَانٌI
But notلَاH
They hearيَسْمَعُونَF
With themبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
ThoseأُولَئِكَI
Are like cattleكَالْأَنْعَامِCBIP+Nكَlike+الthe+أَنْعَامِAre like cattle
NayبَلْH
TheyهُمْI
Are more astrayأَضَلُّI
ThoseأُولَئِكَI
TheyهُمُI
Are the heedlessالْغَافِلُونَIالthe+غَافِلُونَAre the heedless

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿180﴾

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.

And for AllahوَلِلَّهِCBICONJ+P+PNوَand+لِfor / to+اللَّهِAllah
Are the namesالْأَسْمَاءُIالthe+أَسْمَاءُAre the names
The most beautifulالْحُسْنَىIالthe+حُسْنَىMost beautiful
So invoke himفَادْعُوهُCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTفَso / then+ادْعُوInvoke+هُhim / his / it
By themبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
And leaveوَذَرُواCBFCONJ+Vوَand+ذَرُواLeave
Those whoالَّذِينَI
DeviateيُلْحِدُونَF
ConcerningفِيH
His namesأَسْمَائِهِCBIN+PRONATTأَسْمَائِHis names+هِhim / his / it
They will be recompensedسَيُجْزَوْنَCBFFUT+Vسَwill+يُجْزَوْنَThey will be recompensed
For whatمَاI
They used toكَانُواF
DoيَعْمَلُونَF

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ ﴿181﴾

And among those We created is a community which guides by truth and thereby establishes justice.

We have createdخَلَقْنَاF
Is a nationأُمَّةٌI
Who guidesيَهْدُونَF

They establish justiceيَعْدِلُونَF
