Allah made it easy
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

“And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance — so is there anyone who will be mindful?”

The Language of Quran— Easier Than English

Learning Arabic, the Language of the Quran

Learning Arabic is neither impossible nor beyond your reach. Allah reminds us four times in Surah al-Qamar: “And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance.”

What Allah has made easy should never be regarded as difficult or impossible. Such thoughts are among the whispers of Shaytan, whose aim is to distance us from the Book of Allah and lead us towards destruction in this world and the Hereafter. We must never allow his whispers to make us doubt what Allah Himself has promised.

Perhaps you never began because you feared Arabic would be too difficult. Or perhaps you tried several times, saw little progress and eventually gave up.

The language was never beyond your reach. You simply needed a clearer path, the right method, and the confidence and determination to reach your goal.

The 3–2–6 framework

Arabic is not a maze. It is a map.

Learning Arabic should not feel like being lost in a maze. Arabic has a clear, logical structure that you can follow. Once you understand its foundations and practise what you learn, the language begins to open up.

It all begins with just 3 types of words. These combine according to structured rules to form only 2 types of sentences and 6 essential phrase structures. Once you begin to master these foundations, you can start to see how the words of the Quran come together to convey its meaning and message.

How the Quran's Arabic works Arabic has only three word types — noun, verb, particle — which combine into a murakkab, which is either complete (two sentence types) or incomplete (six phrase types). ARABIC HAS ONLY THREE TYPES OF WORDS حَرْف Particle فِعْل Verb اِسْم Noun + + combine (two or more) to form مُرَكَّب (meaningful) construct …is one of two kinds تَامّ Complete ONLY 2 SENTENCE TYPES Nominal Sentence Verbal Sentence نَاقِص Incomplete 6 COMMON PHRASE TYPES descriptive · prepositional possessive · pointing conjunctional · appositive Learn the three types of words and how they come together to form sentences and phrases, and you will begin to see the structure within every ayah of the Quran.

Understand the 3–2–6 framework, and you begin to see how the language of the Quran is put together.

Structure is what matters

Words, sentences and phrases

Take a look at this ayah from Surah al-Fatiha. Four words — and you already know it by heart.

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ Nominal sentencejumla ismiyya A complete statement with no verb in it at all. “All praise is for Allah.” See the structure →
لِلَّهِ Prepositional phrasemurakkab jarri The particle لِ — “for” — joined to a noun. One word in every six in the Quran. See the structure →
رَبِّ Descriptivenaʿt Describes الله — the same One, named again. See the structure →
رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ Possessive phrasemurakkab idafi Two nouns joined by an “of” that is never written. “Lord of the worlds.” See the structure →

The words of the Quran are not placed at random. They are arranged with perfect, miraculous precision, forming phrases and sentences that convey depth, meaning and a powerful message.

Memorising vocabulary alone is not enough. Unless we understand how Arabic phrases and sentences are structured, we cannot fully understand the meaning of the ayat.
