التوبة

Surah 9 · Ruku 4 of 16 · ayahs 25–29 · Juz 10 · pages 190–191 · Madani

لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ ۙ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ۙ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُم مُّدْبِرِينَ ﴿25﴾

Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.

RegionsمَوَاطِنَI

And on the dayوَيَوْمَCBICONJ+Nوَand+يَوْمَOn the day

Of hunainحُنَيْنٍI

WhenإِذْI

Pleased youأَعْجَبَتْكُمْCBFV+PRONATTأَعْجَبَتْPleased+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

Your multitudeكَثْرَتُكُمْCBIN+PRONATTكَثْرَتُYour multitude+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

But notفَلَمْCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَمْBut not

AvailedتُغْنِF

YouعَنْكُمْCBHP+PRONATTعَنْyou+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

AnythingشَيْئًاI

And was straitenedوَضَاقَتْCBFCONJ+Vوَand+ضَاقَتْWas straitened

For youعَلَيْكُمُCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىFor+كُمُyou / your (pl.)

The earthالْأَرْضُIالthe+أَرْضُEarth

In spite of its vastnessبِمَاCBIP+RELبِwith / in+مَاSpite of its vastness

In spite of its vastnessرَحُبَتْF

ThenثُمَّH

You turned backوَلَّيْتُمْF

FleeingمُدْبِرِينَI

9:26

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنزَلَ جُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا وَعَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿26﴾

Then Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.

The believersالْمُؤْمِنِينَIالthe+مُؤْمِنِينَBelievers

And sent downوَأَنْزَلَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+أَنْزَلَSent down

ForcesجُنُودًاI

Which you did not seeلَمْH

Which you did not seeتَرَوْهَاCBFV+PRONATTتَرَوْWhich you did not see+هَاher / it / its

And he punishedوَعَذَّبَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+عَذَّبَHe punished

Those whoالَّذِينَI

DisbelievedكَفَرُواF

And thatوَذَلِكَCBICONJ+DEMوَand+ذَلِكَThat

Is the recompenseجَزَاءُI

Of the disbelieversالْكَافِرِينَIالthe+كَافِرِينَOf the disbelievers

9:27

ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿27﴾

Then Allah will accept repentance after that for whom He wills; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Is oft forgivingغَفُورٌI

Most MercifulرَحِيمٌI

9:28

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلَا يَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ ٱلْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ إِن شَآءَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ ﴿28﴾

O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.

So let them not come nearفَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَاLet them not come near

So let them not come nearيَقْرَبُواF

Al masjid al haraamالْمَسْجِدَIالthe+مَسْجِدَAl masjid al haraam

Al masjid al haraamالْحَرَامَIالthe+حَرَامَAl masjid al haraam

AfterبَعْدَI

This their final yearعَامِهِمْCBIN+PRONATTعَامِThis their final year+هِمْthem / their

This their final yearهَذَاI

And ifوَإِنْCBHCONJ+CONDوَand+إِنْIf

You fearخِفْتُمْF

PovertyعَيْلَةًI

Then soonفَسَوْفَCBHCONJ+FUTفَso / then+سَوْفَSoon

Allah will enrich youيُغْنِيكُمُCBFV+PRONATTيُغْنِيAllah will enrich+كُمُyou / your (pl.)

Allah will enrich youاللَّهُI

FromمِنْH

His bountyفَضْلِهِCBIN+PRONATTفَضْلِHis bounty+هِhim / his / it

IfإِنْH

He willsشَاءَF

IndeedإِنَّH

AllahاللَّهَI

Is all knowerعَلِيمٌI

All wiseحَكِيمٌI

9:29

قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلْحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا۟ ٱلْجِزْيَةَ عَن يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَٰغِرُونَ ﴿29﴾

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

Those whoالَّذِينَI

They make unlawfulيُحَرِّمُونَF

WhatمَاI

Allah has made unlawfulحَرَّمَF

Allah has made unlawfulاللَّهُI

And his MessengerوَرَسُولُهُCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+رَسُولُHis Messenger+هُhim / his / it

And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot

They acknowledgeيَدِينُونَF

The religionدِينَI

Of the truthالْحَقِّIالthe+حَقِّOf the truth

FromمِنَH

Those whoالَّذِينَI

Were givenأُوتُواF

The scriptureالْكِتَابَIالthe+كِتَابَScripture

UntilحَتَّىH

They payيُعْطُواF

TheالْجِزْيَةَIالthe+جِزْيَةَthe

WillinglyعَنْH

WillinglyيَدٍI

While theyوَهُمْCBICONJ+PRONSUBJوَand+هُمْWhile they

Are subduedصَاغِرُونَI
