قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿34﴾

[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.

Is surely a magicianلَسَاحِرٌCBILAM+Nلَfor / to+سَاحِرٌIs surely a magician
LearnedعَلِيمٌI

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ﴿35﴾

He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"

Do you adviseتَأْمُرُونَF

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ ﴿36﴾

They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ ﴿37﴾

Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."

So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.

وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ﴿39﴾

And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate

To the peopleلِلنَّاسِCBIP+Nلِلfor the+نَاسِPeople
WillهَلْH
YouأَنْتُمْI
AssembleمُجْتَمِعُونَI

لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ ﴿40﴾

That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ ﴿41﴾

And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"

A rewardلَأَجْرًاCBILAM+Nلَfor / to+أَجْرًاA reward
IfإِنْH
We areكُنَّاF
We areنَحْنُI
The victoriousالْغَالِبِينَIالthe+غَالِبِينَVictorious

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴿42﴾

He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ ﴿43﴾

Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."

So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."

By the mightبِعِزَّةِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+عِزَّةِThe might
Of PharaohفِرْعَوْنَI
Indeed weإِنَّاCBHACC+PRONATTإِIndeed we+ناus / our
Surely weلَنَحْنُCBILAM+PRONSUBJلَfor / to+نَحْنُSurely we
Are the victoriousالْغَالِبُونَIالthe+غَالِبُونَAre the victorious

فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ﴿45﴾

Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.

WhatمَاI
They falsifiedيَأْفِكُونَF

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ ﴿46﴾

So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].

ProstrateسَاجِدِينَI

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿47﴾

They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,

In the LordبِرَبِّCBIP+Nبِwith / in+رَبِّThe Lord
Of the worldsالْعَالَمِينَIالthe+عَالَمِينَOf the worlds

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ﴿48﴾

The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿49﴾

[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."

WhoالَّذِيI
Has taught youعَلَّمَكُمُCBFV+PRONATTعَلَّمَHas taught+كُمُyou / your (pl.)
The magicالسِّحْرَIالthe+سِحْرَMagic
So surely soonفَلَسَوْفَCBHCONJ+LAM+FUTفَso / then+لَfor / to+سَوْفَSurely soon
You will knowتَعْلَمُونَF
I will surely cut offلَأُقَطِّعَنَّCBFLAM+V+PRONATTلَfor / to+أُقَطِّعَI will surely cut off+نَّemphasis
Your handsأَيْدِيَكُمْCBIN+PRONATTأَيْدِيَYour hands+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
And your feetوَأَرْجُلَكُمْCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+أَرْجُلَYour feet+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
OfمِنْH
Opposite sidesخِلَافٍI
And i will surely crucify youوَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْCBFCONJ+LAM+V+PRONATTوَand+لَfor / to+أُصَلِّبَI will surely crucify you+نَّemphasis+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
AllأَجْمَعِينَI

قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ﴿50﴾

They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.

إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿51﴾

Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ﴿52﴾

And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
