يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَآءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا ﴿9﴾

O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did not see. And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing.

The hostsجُنُودٌI
And we sentفَأَرْسَلْنَاCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+أَرْسَلْنَاAnd we sent
Upon themعَلَيْهِمْCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىUpon+هِمْthem / their
A windرِيحًاI
And hostsوَجُنُودًاCBICONJ+Nوَand+جُنُودًاHosts
NotلَمْH
You could see themتَرَوْهَاCBFV+PRONATTتَرَوْYou could see+هَاher / it / its
And Allah isوَكَانَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+كَانَAllah is
And Allah isاللَّهُI
Of whatبِمَاCBIP+RELبِwith / in+مَاOf what
You doتَعْمَلُونَF
All seerبَصِيرًاI

إِذْ جَآءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۠ ﴿10﴾

[Remember] when they came at you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted [in fear], and hearts reached the throats and you assumed about Allah [various] assumptions.

Grew wildزَاغَتِF
The eyesالْأَبْصَارُIالthe+أَبْصَارُEyes
And reachedوَبَلَغَتِCBFCONJ+Vوَand+بَلَغَتِReached
The heartsالْقُلُوبُIالthe+قُلُوبُHearts
The throatsالْحَنَاجِرَIالthe+حَنَاجِرَThroats
And you assumedوَتَظُنُّونَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+تَظُنُّونَYou assumed
About AllahبِاللَّهِCBIP+PNبِwith / in+اللَّهِAbout Allah
The assumptionsالظُّنُونَاIالthe+ظُنُونَاAssumptions

هُنَالِكَ ٱبْتُلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ زِلْزَالًا شَدِيدًا ﴿11﴾

There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking.

SevereشَدِيدًاI

وَإِذْ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ إِلَّا غُرُورًا ﴿12﴾

And [remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, "Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion,"

The hypocritesالْمُنَافِقُونَIالthe+مُنَافِقُونَHypocrites
And thoseوَالَّذِينَCBICONJ+RELوَand+الَّذِينَThose
InفِيH
Their heartsقُلُوبِهِمْCBIN+PRONATTقُلُوبِTheir hearts+هِمْthem / their
Was a diseaseمَرَضٌI
NotمَاH
Allah promised usوَعَدَنَاCBFV+PRONATTوَعَدَAllah promised+نَاus / our
Allah promised usاللَّهُI
And his MessengerوَرَسُولُهُCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+رَسُولُHis Messenger+هُhim / his / it
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
DelusionغُرُورًاI

وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ ۚ وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوْرَةٍ ۖ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا ﴿13﴾

And when a faction of them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no stability for you [here], so return [home]." And a party of them asked permission of the Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses are unprotected," while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee.

So returnفَارْجِعُواCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+ارْجِعُواReturn
And asked permissionوَيَسْتَأْذِنُCBFCONJ+Vوَand+يَسْتَأْذِنُAsked permission
A groupفَرِيقٌI
Of themمِنْهُمُCBHP+PRONATTمِنْOf+هُمُthem / their
From the ProphetالنَّبِيَّIالthe+نَبِيَّFrom the Prophet
SayingيَقُولُونَF
IndeedإِنَّH
Our housesبُيُوتَنَاCBIN+PRONATTبُيُوتَOur houses+نَاus / our
Are exposedعَوْرَةٌI
And notوَمَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+مَاNot
TheyهِيَI
Were exposedبِعَوْرَةٍCBIP+Nبِwith / in+عَوْرَةٍWere exposed
NotإِنْH
They wishedيُرِيدُونَF
ButإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
To fleeفِرَارًاI

وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا۟ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ لَءَاتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا۟ بِهَآ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا ﴿14﴾

And if they had been entered upon from all its [surrounding] regions and fitnah had been demanded of them, they would have done it and not hesitated over it except briefly.

All its sidesأَقْطَارِهَاCBIN+PRONATTأَقْطَارِAll its sides+هَاher / it / its
ThenثُمَّH
They had been askedسُئِلُواF
The treacheryالْفِتْنَةَIالthe+فِتْنَةَTreachery
They would have certainly done itلَآتَوْهَاCBFLAM+V+PRONATTلَfor / to+آتَوْThey would have certainly done+هَاher / it / its
And notوَمَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+مَاNot
They would have hesitatedتَلَبَّثُواF
Over itبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
A littleيَسِيرًاI

وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ ۚ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْـُٔولًا ﴿15﴾

And they had already promised Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And ever is the promise to Allah [that about which one will be] questioned.

PromisedعَاهَدُواF
AllahاللَّهَI
BeforeمِنْH
BeforeقَبْلُI
NotلَاH
They would turnيُوَلُّونَF
Their backsالْأَدْبَارَIالthe+أَدْبَارَTheir backs
And isوَكَانَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+كَانَIs
The promiseعَهْدُI
To AllahاللَّهِI
To be questionedمَسْئُولًاI

قُل لَّن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ أَوِ ٱلْقَتْلِ وَإِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ﴿16﴾

Say, [O Muhammad], "Never will fleeing benefit you if you should flee from death or killing; and then [if you did], you would not be given enjoyment [of life] except for a little."

KillingالْقَتْلِIالthe+قَتْلِKilling
And thenوَإِذًاCBHCONJ+SURوَand+إِذًاThen
NotلَاH
You will be allowed to enjoyتُمَتَّعُونَF
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
A littleقَلِيلًاI

قُلْ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَعْصِمُكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً ۚ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ﴿17﴾

Say, "Who is it that can protect you from Allah if He intends for you an ill or intends for you a mercy?" And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or any helper.

And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot
They will findيَجِدُونَF
For themلَهُمْCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+هُمْthem / their
BesidesمِنْH
BesidesدُونِI
AllahاللَّهِI
Any protectorوَلِيًّاI
And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot
Any helperنَصِيرًاI

قَدْ يَعْلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا ۖ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ﴿18﴾

Already Allah knows the hinderers among you and those [hypocrites] who say to their brothers, "Come to us," and do not go to battle, except for a few,

And those who sayوَالْقَائِلِينَCBICONJ+Nوَand+الthe+قَائِلِينَThose who say
To their brothersلِإِخْوَانِهِمْCBIP+N+PRONATTلِfor / to+إِخْوَانِTheir brothers+هِمْthem / their
ComeهَلُمَّF
To usإِلَيْنَاCBHP+PRONATTإِلَىTo+نَاus / our
And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot
They comeيَأْتُونَF
To the battleالْبَأْسَIالthe+بَأْسَTo the battle
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
A fewقَلِيلًاI

أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ ٱلْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَٱلَّذِى يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ٱلْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَأَحْبَطَ ٱللَّهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا ﴿19﴾

Indisposed toward you. And when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like one being overcome by death. But when fear departs, they lash you with sharp tongues, indisposed toward [any] good. Those have not believed, so Allah has rendered their deeds worthless, and ever is that, for Allah, easy.

FaintsيُغْشَىF
FaintsعَلَيْهِCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىFaints+هِhim / his / it
FromمِنَH
[the] deathالْمَوْتِIالthe+مَوْتِ[the] death
But whenفَإِذَاCBICONJ+Tفَso / then+إِذَاBut when
DepartsذَهَبَF
The fearالْخَوْفُIالthe+خَوْفُFear
They smite youسَلَقُوكُمْCBFV+PRONATTسَلَقُوThey smite+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
With tonguesبِأَلْسِنَةٍCBIP+Nبِwith / in+أَلْسِنَةٍTongues
SharpحِدَادٍI
MiserlyأَشِحَّةًI
TowardsعَلَىH
The goodالْخَيْرِIالthe+خَيْرِGood
ThoseأُولَئِكَI
NotلَمْH
They have believedيُؤْمِنُواF
So Allah made worthlessفَأَحْبَطَCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+أَحْبَطَAllah made worthless
So Allah made worthlessاللَّهُI
Their deedsأَعْمَالَهُمْCBIN+PRONATTأَعْمَالَTheir deeds+هُمْthem / their
And isوَكَانَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+كَانَIs
ThatذَلِكَI
ForعَلَىH
AllahاللَّهِI
EasyيَسِيرًاI

يَحْسَبُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ ۖ وَإِن يَأْتِ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِى ٱلْأَعْرَابِ يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ﴿20﴾

They think the companies have not [yet] withdrawn. And if the companies should come [again], they would wish they were in the desert among the bedouins, inquiring [from afar] about your news. And if they should be among you, they would not fight except for a little.

And ifوَلَوْCBHCONJ+CONDوَand+لَوْIf
They wereكَانُواF
Among youفِيكُمْCBHP+PRONATTفِيAmong+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
NotمَاH
They would fightقَاتَلُواF
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
