وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ ﴿116﴾

And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused.

And whenوَإِذْCBICONJ+Tوَand+إِذْWhen
We saidقُلْنَاF
To the angelsلِلْمَلَائِكَةِCBIP+Nلِلfor the+مَلَائِكَةِAngels
ProstrateاسْجُدُواF
To adamلِآدَمَCBIP+PNلِfor / to+آدَمَAdam
Then they prostratedفَسَجَدُواCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+سَجَدُواThey prostrated
ExceptإِلَّاHإِنْif=لَاnot
IblisإِبْلِيسَI
He refusedأَبَىF

فَقُلْنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوٌّ لَّكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلَا يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَىٰٓ ﴿117﴾

So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer.

Then we saidفَقُلْنَاCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+قُلْنَاWe said
O adamيَاآدَمُCBIVOC+PNيَاO+آدَمُAdam
IndeedإِنَّH
ThisهَذَاI
Is an enemyعَدُوٌّI
To youلَكَCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+كَyou / your
And to your wifeوَلِزَوْجِكَCBICONJ+P+N+PRONATTوَand+لِfor / to+زَوْجِYour wife+كَyou / your
So notفَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَاNot
Let him drive you bothيُخْرِجَنَّكُمَاCBFV+PRONATTيُخْرِجَLet him drive you both+نَّemphasis+كُمَاyou two
FromمِنَH
ParadiseالْجَنَّةِIالthe+جَنَّةِParadise
So that you would sufferفَتَشْقَىCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+تَشْقَىThat you would suffer

إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعْرَىٰ ﴿118﴾

Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed.

You will be hungryتَجُوعَF

You will be unclothedتَعْرَىF

وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَؤُا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ ﴿119﴾

And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun."

Will suffer from thirstتَظْمَأُF
ThereinفِيهَاCBHP+PRONATTفِيTherein+هَاher / it / its
And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot
Exposed to the suns heatتَضْحَىF

فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ ﴿120﴾

Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?"

Then whisperedفَوَسْوَسَCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+وَسْوَسَWhispered
To himإِلَيْهِCBHP+PRONATTإِلَىTo+هِhim / his / it
DevilالشَّيْطَانُIالthe+شَيْطَانُDevil
He saidقَالَF
O adamيَاآدَمُCBIVOC+PNيَاO+آدَمُAdam
ShallهَلْH
I direct youأَدُلُّكَCBFV+PRONATTأَدُلُّI direct+كَyou / your
ToعَلَىH
The treeشَجَرَةِI
Of the eternityالْخُلْدِIالthe+خُلْدِOf the eternity
And a kingdomوَمُلْكٍCBICONJ+Nوَand+مُلْكٍA kingdom
NotلَاH
That will deteriorateيَبْلَىF

فَأَكَلَا مِنْهَا فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۚ وَعَصَىٰٓ ءَادَمُ رَبَّهُۥ فَغَوَىٰ ﴿121﴾

And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred.

So became apparentفَبَدَتْCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+بَدَتْBecame apparent
To themلَهُمَاCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+هُمَاthem two
Their shameسَوْآتُهُمَاCBIN+PRONATTسَوْءَاتُTheir shame+هُمَاthem two
And they beganوَطَفِقَاCBFCONJ+Vوَand+طَفِقَاThey began
To fastenيَخْصِفَانِF
On themselvesعَلَيْهِمَاCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىOn+هِمَاthem two
FromمِنْH
The leavesوَرَقِI
Of ParadiseالْجَنَّةِIالthe+جَنَّةِOf Paradise
And adam disobeyedوَعَصَىCBFCONJ+Vوَand+عَصَىAdam disobeyed
And adam disobeyedآدَمُI
His LordرَبَّهُCBIN+PRONATTرَبَّHis Lord+هُhim / his / it
And erredفَغَوَىCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+غَوَىAnd erred

ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ ﴿122﴾

Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him].

ThenثُمَّH
Chose himاجْتَبَاهُCBFV+PRONATTاجْتَبَاChose+هُhim / his / it
His LordرَبُّهُCBIN+PRONATTرَبُّHis Lord+هُhim / his / it
And turnedفَتَابَCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+تَابَAnd turned
To himعَلَيْهِCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىTo+هِhim / his / it
And guided himوَهَدَىCBFCONJ+Vوَand+هَدَىGuided him

قَالَ ٱهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًۢا ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ ﴿123﴾

[Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter].

To othersلِبَعْضٍCBIP+Nلِfor / to+بَعْضٍOthers
As enemyعَدُوٌّI
Then ifفَإِمَّاCBICONJ+CONDفَso / then+إِنْif=مَاever
Comes to youيَأْتِيَنَّكُمْCBFV+PRONATTيَأْتِيَComes to you+نَّemphasis+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
From meمِنِّيCBHP+PRONATTمِFrom+نِيme
GuidanceهُدًىI
Then whoeverفَمَنِCBICONJ+CONDفَso / then+مَنْWhoever
FollowsاتَّبَعَF
My guidanceهُدَايَCBIN+PRONATTهُدَاMy guidance+يَme / my
Then notفَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَاNot
He will go astrayيَضِلُّF
And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot
SufferيَشْقَىF

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَعْمَىٰ ﴿124﴾

And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."

Turns awayأَعْرَضَF

My remembranceذِكْرِيCBIN+PRONATTذِكْرِMy remembrance+يme / my
Then indeedفَإِنَّCBHCONJ+ACCفَso / then+إِنَّIndeed
For himلَهُCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+هُhim / his / it
Is a lifeمَعِيشَةًI
StraitenedضَنْكًاI
And we will gather himوَنَحْشُرُهُCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTوَand+نَحْشُرُWe will gather+هُhim / his / it
On the dayيَوْمَI
Of the resurrectionالْقِيَامَةِIالthe+قِيَامَةِOf the resurrection
BlindأَعْمَىI

قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِىٓ أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًا ﴿125﴾

He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"

My LordرَبِّI
WhyلِمَH
You raised meحَشَرْتَنِيCBFV+PRONATTحَشَرْتَYou raised+نِيme
BlindأَعْمَىI
While [verily]وَقَدْCBHCONJ+CERTوَand+قَدْWhile [verily]
I hadكُنْتُF
SightبَصِيرًاI

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ ءَايَٰتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ تُنسَىٰ ﴿126﴾

[Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."

He will sayقَالَF
ThusكَذَلِكَCBIP+DEMكَlike+ذَلِكَThus
Came to youأَتَتْكَCBFV+PRONATTأَتَتْCame to+كَyou / your
Our signsآيَاتُنَاCBIN+PRONATTآيَاتُOur signs+نَاus / our
But you forgot themفَنَسِيتَهَاCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTفَso / then+نَسِيتَBut you forgot+هَاher / it / its
And thusوَكَذَلِكَCBICONJ+P+DEMوَand+كَذَلِكَThus
TodayالْيَوْمَIالthe+يَوْمَToday
You will be forgottenتُنْسَىF

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنۢ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ﴿127﴾

And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring.

We recompenseنَجْزِيF
He whoمَنْI
TransgressesأَسْرَفَF
And notوَلَمْCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَمْNot
BelievesيُؤْمِنْF
In the signsبِآيَاتِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+آيَاتِThe signs
Of his LordرَبِّهِCBIN+PRONATTرَبِّOf his Lord+هِhim / his / it
And surely the punishmentوَلَعَذَابُCBICONJ+LAM+Nوَand+لَfor / to+عَذَابُSurely the punishment
Of the HereafterالْآخِرَةِIالthe+آخِرَةِOf the Hereafter
Is more severeأَشَدُّI
And more lastingوَأَبْقَىCBICONJ+Nوَand+أَبْقَىMore lasting

أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِى مَسَٰكِنِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلنُّهَىٰ ﴿128﴾

Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence.

IndeedإِنَّH
InفِيH
ThatذَلِكَI
Surely are signsلَآيَاتٍCBILAM+Nلَfor / to+آيَاتٍSurely are signs
For possessorsلِأُولِيCBIP+Nلِfor / to+أُولِيPossessors
Of intelligenceالنُّهَىIالthe+نُهَىOf intelligence
