الأنبياء

Surah 21 · Ruku 4 of 7 · ayahs 42–50 · Juz 17 · pages 325–326 · Makki

قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ ﴿42﴾

Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.

WhoمَنْI

Can protect youيَكْلَؤُكُمْCBFV+PRONATTيَكْلَؤُCan protect+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

In the nightبِاللَّيْلِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+لَيْلِNight

And the dayوَالنَّهَارِCBICONJ+Nوَand+الthe+نَهَارِDay

FromمِنَH

The most GraciousالرَّحْمَنِIالthe+رَحْمَنِMost Gracious

YetبَلْH

TheyهُمْI

FromعَنْH

The remembranceذِكْرِI

Of their LordرَبِّهِمْCBIN+PRONATTرَبِّOf their Lord+هِمْthem / their

Turn awayمُعْرِضُونَI

21:43

أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ ﴿43﴾

Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.

And notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاNot

TheyهُمْI

From usمِنَّاCBHP+PRONATTمِFrom+نَاus / our

Can be protectedيُصْحَبُونَF

21:44

بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَآ ۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ ﴿44﴾

But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?

We gave provisionمَتَّعْنَاF

To theseهَؤُلَاءِI

And their fathersوَآبَاءَهُمْCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+آبَاءَTheir fathers+هُمْthem / their

UntilحَتَّىH

Grew longطَالَF

For themعَلَيْهِمُCBHP+PRONATTعَلَىFor+هِمُthem / their

The lifeالْعُمُرُIالthe+عُمُرُLife

Then do notأَفَلَاCBHINTG+CONJ+NEGأَis it? / did?+فَso / then+لَاDo not

They seeيَرَوْنَF

That weأَنَّاCBHACC+PRONATTأَThat we+ناus / our

We comeنَأْتِيF

To the landالْأَرْضَIالthe+أَرْضَTo the land

We reduce itنَنْقُصُهَاCBFV+PRONATTنَنْقُصُWe reduce+هَاher / it / its

FromمِنْH

Its bordersأَطْرَافِهَاCBIN+PRONATTأَطْرَافِIts borders+هَاher / it / its

So is it theyأَفَهُمُCBIINTG+CONJ+PRONSUBJأَis it? / did?+فَso / then+هُمُIs it they

Who will be overcomingالْغَالِبُونَIالthe+غَالِبُونَWho will be overcoming

21:45

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلْوَحْىِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ ﴿45﴾

Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

OnlyإِنَّمَاCBHإِنَّindeed=مَاonly

I warn youأُنْذِرُكُمْCBFV+PRONATTأُنْذِرُI warn+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

By the revelationبِالْوَحْيِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+وَحْيِRevelation

But notوَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGوَand+لَاBut not

HearيَسْمَعُF

The deafالصُّمُّIالthe+صُمُّDeaf

The callالدُّعَاءَIالthe+دُعَاءَCall

WhenإِذَاI

WhenمَاH

They are warnedيُنْذَرُونَF

21:46

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴿46﴾

And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers."

Touches themمَسَّتْهُمْCBFV+PRONATTمَسَّتْTouches+هُمْthem / their

A whiffنَفْحَةٌI

OfمِنْH

The punishmentعَذَابِI

Of your LordرَبِّكَCBIN+PRONATTرَبِّOf your Lord+كَyou / your

Surely they will sayلَيَقُولُنَّCBFLAM+V+PRONATTلَfor / to+يَقُولُSurely they will say+نَّemphasis

O woe to usيَاوَيْلَنَاCBIN+PRONATTيَاوَيْلَO woe to+نَاus / our

Indeed weإِنَّاCBHACC+PRONATTإِIndeed we+ناus / our

[we] wereكُنَّاF

WrongdoersظَالِمِينَI

21:47

وَنَضَعُ ٱلْمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ ﴿47﴾

And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.

And we setوَنَضَعُCBFCONJ+Vوَand+نَضَعُWe set

The scalesالْمَوَازِينَIالthe+مَوَازِينَScales

Of the justiceالْقِسْطَIالthe+قِسْطَOf the justice

For the dayلِيَوْمِCBIP+Nلِfor / to+يَوْمِThe day

Of the resurrectionالْقِيَامَةِIالthe+قِيَامَةِOf the resurrection

So notفَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَاNot

Will be wrongedتُظْلَمُF

Any soulنَفْسٌI

In anythingشَيْئًاI

And ifوَإِنْCBHCONJ+CONDوَand+إِنْIf

There beكَانَF

WeightمِثْقَالَI

Of a seedحَبَّةٍI

OfمِنْH

A mustardخَرْدَلٍI

We will bringأَتَيْنَاF

[with] itبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its

And sufficientوَكَفَىCBFCONJ+Vوَand+كَفَىSufficient

Are weبِنَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+نَاus / our

As reckonersحَاسِبِينَI

21:48

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَآءً وَذِكْرًا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿48﴾

And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous

And verilyوَلَقَدْCBHCONJ+CERTوَand+لَقَدْVerily

We gaveآتَيْنَاF

MosesمُوسَىI

And aaronوَهَارُونَCBICONJ+PNوَand+هَارُونَAaron

The criterionالْفُرْقَانَIالthe+فُرْقَانَCriterion

And a lightوَضِيَاءًCBICONJ+Nوَand+ضِيَاءًA light

And a reminderوَذِكْرًاCBICONJ+Nوَand+ذِكْرًاA reminder

For the righteousلِلْمُتَّقِينَCBIP+Nلِلfor the+مُتَّقِينَRighteous

21:49

ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ ﴿49﴾

Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive.

FearيَخْشَوْنَF

The hourالسَّاعَةِIالthe+سَاعَةِHour

Are afraidمُشْفِقُونَI

21:50

وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ ۚ أَفَأَنتُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ ﴿50﴾

And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted?

Is a reminderذِكْرٌI

BlessedمُبَارَكٌI

Then are youأَفَأَنْتُمْCBIINTG+CONJ+PRONSUBJأَis it? / did?+فَso / then+أَنْتُمْAre you
