Surah Al-Jumuah

الجمعة

Surah 62 · Ruku 2 of 2 · ayahs 9–11 · Juz 28 · page 554 · Madani

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نُودِىَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوْمِ ٱلْجُمُعَةِ فَٱسْعَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿9﴾

O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.

The call is madeنُودِيَF

For the prayerلِلصَّلَاةِCBIP+Nلِلfor the+صَلَاةِPrayer

OnمِنْH

The dayيَوْمِI

Of fridayالْجُمُعَةِIالthe+جُمُعَةِOf friday

Then hastenفَاسْعَوْاCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+اسْعَوْاHasten

ToإِلَىH

The remembranceذِكْرِI

Of AllahاللَّهِI

And leaveوَذَرُواCBFCONJ+Vوَand+ذَرُواLeave

The businessالْبَيْعَIالthe+بَيْعَBusiness

ThatذَلِكُمْI

Is betterخَيْرٌI

For youلَكُمْCBHP+PRONATTلَfor / to+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

IfإِنْH

YouكُنْتُمْF

KnowتَعْلَمُونَF

62:10

فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةُ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ﴿10﴾

And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.

Then whenفَإِذَاCBICONJ+Tفَso / then+إِذَاWhen

Is concludedقُضِيَتِF

The prayerالصَّلَاةُIالthe+صَلَاةُPrayer

Then disperseفَانْتَشِرُواCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+انْتَشِرُواDisperse

InفِيH

The landالْأَرْضِIالthe+أَرْضِLand

And seekوَابْتَغُواCBFCONJ+Vوَand+ابْتَغُواSeek

FromمِنْH

The bounty of AllahفَضْلِI

The bounty of AllahاللَّهِI

And rememberوَاذْكُرُواCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اذْكُرُواRemember

AllahاللَّهَI

MuchكَثِيرًاI

So that you mayلَعَلَّكُمْCBHACC+PRONATTلَعَلَّSo that you may+كُمْyou / your (pl.)

SucceedتُفْلِحُونَF

62:11

وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ تِجَٰرَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا ٱنفَضُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَآئِمًا ۚ قُلْ مَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ ٱلتِّجَٰرَةِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ ﴿11﴾

But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muhammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers."

And left youوَتَرَكُوكَCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTوَand+تَرَكُوLeft+كَyou / your

StandingقَائِمًاI

SayقُلْF

WhatمَاI

Is withعِنْدَI

AllahاللَّهِI

Is betterخَيْرٌI

ThanمِنَH

The sportاللَّهْوِIالthe+لَهْوِSport

And fromوَمِنَCBHCONJ+Pوَand+مِنَFrom

Any transactionالتِّجَارَةِIالthe+تِجَارَةِAny transaction

And AllahوَاللَّهُCBICONJ+PNوَand+اللَّهُAllah

Is the bestخَيْرُI

Of the providersالرَّازِقِينَIالthe+رَازِقِينَOf the providers
