وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا لُقْمَٰنَ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ ﴿12﴾

And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

And verilyوَلَقَدْCBHCONJ+CERTوَand+لَقَدْVerily
We gaveآتَيْنَاF
LuqmanلُقْمَانَI
The wisdomالْحِكْمَةَIالthe+حِكْمَةَWisdom
ThatأَنِH
Be gratefulاشْكُرْF
To AllahلِلَّهِCBIP+PNلِfor / to+اللَّهِAllah
And whoeverوَمَنْCBICONJ+INTGوَand+مَنْWhoever
Is gratefulيَشْكُرْF
Then onlyفَإِنَّمَاCBHCONJ+ACCفَso / then+إِنَّindeed=مَاonly
He is gratefulيَشْكُرُF
For himselfلِنَفْسِهِCBIP+N+PRONATTلِfor / to+نَفْسِHimself+هِhim / his / it
And whoeverوَمَنْCBICONJ+INTGوَand+مَنْWhoever
Is ungratefulكَفَرَF
Then indeedفَإِنَّCBHCONJ+ACCفَso / then+إِنَّIndeed
AllahاللَّهَI
Is free of needغَنِيٌّI
PraiseworthyحَمِيدٌI

وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَٰنُ لِٱبْنِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰبُنَىَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿13﴾

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice."

O my sonيَابُنَيَّCBIVOC+NيَاO+بُMy son+نَيَّme
Do notلَاH
Associate partnersتُشْرِكْF
With AllahبِاللَّهِCBIP+PNبِwith / in+اللَّهِAllah
IndeedإِنَّH
Associating partnersالشِّرْكَIالthe+شِرْكَAssociating partners
Is surely an injusticeلَظُلْمٌCBILAM+Nلَfor / to+ظُلْمٌIs surely an injustice
GreatعَظِيمٌI

وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿14﴾

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

And we have enjoinedوَوَصَّيْنَاCBFCONJ+Vوَand+وَصَّيْنَاWe have enjoined
Upon manالْإِنْسَانَIالthe+إِنْسَانَUpon man
For his parentsبِوَالِدَيْهِCBIP+N+PRONATTبِwith / in+وَالِدَيْFor his parents+هِhim / his / it
Carried himحَمَلَتْهُCBFV+PRONATTحَمَلَتْCarried+هُhim / his / it
His motherأُمُّهُCBIN+PRONATTأُمُّHis mother+هُhim / his / it
In weaknessوَهْنًاI
UponعَلَىH
WeaknessوَهْنٍI
And his weaningوَفِصَالُهُCBICONJ+N+PRONATTوَand+فِصَالُHis weaning+هُhim / his / it
Is inفِيH
Two yearsعَامَيْنِI
ThatأَنِH
Be gratefulاشْكُرْF
To meلِيCBHP+PRONATTلِfor / to+يme / my
And to your parentsوَلِوَالِدَيْكَCBICONJ+P+N+PRONATTوَand+لِfor / to+وَالِدَيْYour parents+كَyou / your
Towards meإِلَيَّCBHP+PRONATTإِلَTowards+يme / my
Is the destinationالْمَصِيرُIالthe+مَصِيرُIs the destination

وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا ۖ وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿15﴾

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

Any knowledgeعِلْمٌI
Then do notفَلَاCBHCONJ+NEGفَso / then+لَاDo not
Obey both of themتُطِعْهُمَاCBFV+PRONATTتُطِعْObey both of+هُمَاthem two
But accompany themوَصَاحِبْهُمَاCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTوَand+صَاحِبْBut accompany+هُمَاthem two
InفِيH
The worldالدُّنْيَاIالthe+دُنْيَاWorld
With kindnessمَعْرُوفًاI
And followوَاتَّبِعْCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اتَّبِعْFollow
The pathسَبِيلَI
Of him whoمَنْI
TurnsأَنَابَF
To meإِلَيَّCBHP+PRONATTإِلَTo+يme / my
ThenثُمَّH
Towards meإِلَيَّCBHP+PRONATTإِلَTowards+يme / my
Is your returnمَرْجِعُكُمْCBIN+PRONATTمَرْجِعُIs your return+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
Then i will inform youفَأُنَبِّئُكُمْCBFCONJ+V+PRONATTفَso / then+أُنَبِّئُI will inform+كُمْyou / your (pl.)
Of whatبِمَاCBIP+RELبِwith / in+مَاOf what
You used toكُنْتُمْF
DoتَعْمَلُونَF

يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُن فِى صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَوْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ ﴿16﴾

[And Luqman said], "O my son, indeed if wrong should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Subtle and Acquainted.

Of a grainحَبَّةٍI
OfمِنْH
A mustard seedخَرْدَلٍI
And it beفَتَكُنْCBFCONJ+Vفَso / then+تَكُنْAnd it be
InفِيH
A rockصَخْرَةٍI
OrأَوْH
InفِيH
The heavensالسَّمَاوَاتِIالthe+سَمَوَاتِHeavens
OrأَوْH
InفِيH
The earthالْأَرْضِIالthe+أَرْضِEarth
Allah will bring it forthيَأْتِF
Allah will bring it forthبِهَاCBHP+PRONATTبِwith / in+هَاher / it / its
Allah will bring it forthاللَّهُI
IndeedإِنَّH
AllahاللَّهَI
Is all subtleلَطِيفٌI
All awareخَبِيرٌI

يَٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ ۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ ﴿17﴾

O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.

O my sonيَابُنَيَّCBIVOC+NيَاO+بُMy son+نَيَّme
EstablishأَقِمِF
The prayerالصَّلَاةَIالthe+صَلَاةَPrayer
And enjoinوَأْمُرْCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اؤْمُرْEnjoin
[with] the rightبِالْمَعْرُوفِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+مَعْرُوفِ[with] the right
And forbidوَانْهَCBFCONJ+Vوَand+انْهَForbid
FromعَنِH
The wrongالْمُنْكَرِIالthe+مُنْكَرِWrong
And be patientوَاصْبِرْCBFCONJ+Vوَand+اصْبِرْBe patient
OverعَلَىH
WhatمَاI
Befalls youأَصَابَكَCBFV+PRONATTأَصَابَBefalls+كَyou / your
IndeedإِنَّH
ThatذَلِكَI
Is ofمِنْH
The matters requiring determinationعَزْمِI
The matters requiring determinationالْأُمُورِIالthe+أُمُورِMatters requiring determination

وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ ﴿18﴾

And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

WalkتَمْشِF
InفِيH
The earthالْأَرْضِIالthe+أَرْضِEarth
ExultantlyمَرَحًاI
IndeedإِنَّH
AllahاللَّهَI
Does notلَاH
LikeيُحِبُّF
EveryكُلَّI
Self conceitedمُخْتَالٍI
BoasterفَخُورٍI

وَٱقْصِدْ فِى مَشْيِكَ وَٱغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ لَصَوْتُ ٱلْحَمِيرِ ﴿19﴾

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

Of all soundsالْأَصْوَاتِIالthe+أَصْوَاتِOf all sounds
Is surely the voiceلَصَوْتُCBILAM+Nلَfor / to+صَوْتُIs surely the voice
Of the donkeysالْحَمِيرِIالthe+حَمِيرِOf the donkeys
