ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ﴿1﴾
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -

In the nameبِاسْمِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+اسْمِThe name Of your LordرَبِّكَCBIN+PRONATTرَبِّOf your Lord+كَyou / your خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ ﴿2﴾
Created man from a clinging substance.

ManالْإِنْسَانَIالthe+إِنْسَانَMan A clinging substanceعَلَقٍI ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ ﴿3﴾
Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -

Is the most generousالْأَكْرَمُIالthe+أَكْرَمُIs the most generous ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ ﴿4﴾
Who taught by the pen -

By the penبِالْقَلَمِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+قَلَمِPen عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ﴿5﴾
Taught man that which he knew not.

ManالْإِنْسَانَIالthe+إِنْسَانَMan كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ ﴿6﴾
No! [But] indeed, man transgresses

ManالْإِنْسَانَIالthe+إِنْسَانَMan Surely transgressesلَيَطْغَىCBFLAM+Vلَfor / to+يَطْغَىSurely transgresses أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ ﴿7﴾
Because he sees himself self-sufficient.

He sees himselfرَآهُCBFV+PRONATTرَآHe sees himself+هُhim / his / it Self sufficientاسْتَغْنَىF إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ ﴿8﴾
Indeed, to your Lord is the return.

Have you seen the one who forbids

Have you seenأَرَأَيْتَCBFINTG+Vأَis it? / did?+رَأَيْتَHave you seen عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ ﴿10﴾
A servant when he prays?
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ﴿11﴾
Have you seen if he is upon guidance

Have you seenأَرَأَيْتَCBFINTG+Vأَis it? / did?+رَأَيْتَHave you seen [the] guidanceالْهُدَىIالthe+هُدَى[the] guidance أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ ﴿12﴾
Or enjoins righteousness?

[of the] righteousnessبِالتَّقْوَىCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+تَقْوَى[of the] righteousness أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ﴿13﴾
Have you seen if he denies and turns away -

Have you seenأَرَأَيْتَCBFINTG+Vأَis it? / did?+رَأَيْتَHave you seen And turns awayوَتَوَلَّىCBFCONJ+Vوَand+تَوَلَّىTurns away أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ ﴿14﴾
Does he not know that Allah sees?

ThatبِأَنَّCBHP+ACCبِwith / in+أَنَّThat كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ ﴿15﴾
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -

Surely we will drag himلَنَسْفَعًاCBFLAM+V+PRONATTلَfor / to+نَسْفَعًSurely we will drag+ًاemphasis By the forelockبِالنَّاصِيَةِCBIP+Nبِwith / in+الthe+نَاصِيَةِForelock نَاصِيَةٍ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ﴿16﴾
A lying, sinning forelock.
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ ﴿17﴾
Then let him call his associates;

Then let him callفَلْيَدْعُCBFCONJ+LAM+Vفَso / then+لْfor / to+لِيَدْعُLet him call His associatesنَادِيَهُCBIN+PRONATTنَادِيَHis associates+هُhim / his / it سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ ﴿18﴾
We will call the angels of Hell.

We will callسَنَدْعُCBFFUT+Vسَwill+نَدْعُWe will call The angelsالزَّبَانِيَةَIالthe+زَبَانِيَةَAngels كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩ ﴿19﴾
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah].
