Classical definition
جَمْعُ المُؤَنَّثِ السَّالِمُ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنَ اثْنَتَيْنِ بِزِيَادَةِ أَلِفٍ وَتَاءٍ، يُنْصَبُ بِالكَسْرَةِ.
(الألفية)
What it is

The sound feminine plural also leaves the word whole, replacing the ta' marbuta with ـَات — مُسْلِمَة becomes مُسْلِمَات. A useful quirk of its i'rab: in the nasb state it takes a kasra, not a fatha, so it carries the same ending in nasb and jarr.
